HER leadership journey is harder than his.

That’s not opinion; it’s reality backed by data, lived experience and everyday observation. The responsibility to change that reality lies with all of us.

We all agree that the world needs better leaders. Leadership IS everything: culture, performance, wellbeing, and long-term success; and in all walks of life. But when half of our potential leadership pool is navigating unnecessary barriers and bias, we all lose out.

To keep those barriers and biases unaddressed, is deeply illogical, and the consequences are dangerous.

Gender imbalance in leadership persists to this day despite decades of messaging and effort. Women still remain underrepresented in senior roles, everywhere. Meanwhile, the rise of gratuitous misogyny online and elsewhere, continued tolerance of discriminatory behaviour, and even our questionable choices over who we elect into power in some instances, all show we are NOT heading in the right direction on this one !

We can do better. And we must. And at Elephant Leadership Camps we do our bit to help.

But let's go back a step first. At Elephant Leadership Camps, we’ve spent years designing and refining development training and learning experiences that work, not just in theory, but in real life, and we have a proven alumni record that backs this up. Our Camps are intensive, three-day residential programmes built for high-potential professionals. Delegates live and work in tight-knit teams, taking on gamified leadership challenges, and receiving around-the-clock coaching from expert facilitators.

We turn unfocused potential into leadership-ready talent. And it works. The model delivers lasting results. For men AND women.

So much for the initial development of talent into leadership readiness. But after that, something goes wrong.

Women's leadership journeys, in general, are not the same as men, even after graduating from one of our Camps. Women face a set of career dynamics and expectations that differ from their male counterparts, and until that changes we need to do something to help.

So, within our mixed Camps, we’ve now created a new option: a dedicated women-only team.

This is not a separate programme. It’s the same high-impact model, with the same outcomes. But it offers a space specifically designed to support HER leadership development journey, with:

• Female-only living and working arrangements
• A safe, supportive environment to speak openly, to be heard, to learn, and to grow
• Expert coaching from world-class women coaches with deep experience in leadership development and navigating the gender differentials
• Tailored exploration of the gender-specific challenges women face when stepping into leadership and navigating a career.

We don’t claim this solves everything or perhaps even helps very much at all. But it’s a tangible, practical (small) step, heading in the right direction, towards equity. And for the women who join us, it’s a powerful way to discover, define and develop leadership in a space that understands them.

We also work hard to ensure access to our Camps is as reachable as possible, especially for women. Grant funding is currently available to help with fees for those having to self-fund and complimentary overnight stays are offered before and after Camp where needed - in our experience women disproportionately take value in - and take up - these offers.

We have recently also launched a Corporate Club too, offering generous discounts for organisations seeking to turn ALL their junior talent into leadership. And we are delighted that our first delegates joining from this scheme have been women.

So. HER leadership matters.

The potential is there, always has been, its just that HER path sometimes need clearing of a few obstacles.
So we are doing our bit.

Elephant Leadership Camps are for those ready to make real progress, whatever their gender, position, or circumstances.
But with women-only teams as an extra option, we are reaching out particularly, to high-potential women.
